- Guilty because you can’t ever seem to stick with the “diets” that you’ve tried in the past.
- Discouraged because you’ve failed at trying to fix your nutrition over and over again.
You’re not the one who’s been here, I’ve met hundreds of people just like you who want to start eating clean, but it just feels impossible and out of reach.
I know this because I’ve been EXACTLY where you are right now.
Let me tell you a story…
Even when I was younger, I knew my eating habits needed work. I was so used to living life on the fast-track, eating quick snacks between heading to school and in between extracurricular activities. I noticed the effects during classes, I couldn’t stay awake or concentrate on the subject at hand. But I was lucky, I was the “skinny girl” that ate whatever I wanted and never gained weight.
Had I known then what I know now, I would have made better food choices. I didn’t know that all the salt and sugar in my diet was a contributor to the water retention that made me appear larger than I actually was.
Hitting Rock Bottom...
Years later, ending a long term relationship and working full-time, in my pain, I turned toward food – chips, ice cream, and cookies, and in my exhaustion, I relied on pills, sodas, energy drinks, and sugary coffees to keep going.
I found myself 20 pounds overweight and HATING my body. Even worse, I felt exhausted, sick, and moody all the time. I never had any energy, my body hurt, my digestion was a mess, and I lived with a never-ending headache.
It was when I realized that my weight and all the symptoms I faced every day were keeping me from being the person I dreamed of being! I wasn’t emotionally present at all.
Real Whole Healthy Clean Food
Finally, I started bridging the gap by taking a much closer look at what I was actually eating. All it took was a little poking around in the subject of nutrition, instead of relying on random blogs and articles to tell me what I was missing. It completely changed the way I looked at calories; for most people, a calorie is a calorie.
Calories are made up of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, sugar, and so on. I found that a higher intake of greens meant I was getting more of the good stuff, Potassium, Calcium, etc. would curb my hunger more effectively than a sports bar, which happens to be high in sugar and fat.
Once I made this realization, eating clean became something I desired. I no longer felt like I was depriving myself of food or enforcing extreme calorie restrictions on my body.
I was just eating real, whole, healthy, clean food.
In a short period of time, I went from feeling like I’d never get my health back on track, to a body and mind that had never been in better shape.
